Chief Director Kwang-Woo Lee
I have been appointed as the president of the Korean Neurological
Association since March 2010. First, I would like to appreciate my
colleagues who entrust me. I feel greatly honored and tremendously
   responsible at the same time.
I have been chaired the president of the Korean Neurological
Association since March, 2010. I would like to thank our seniors,
juniors and colleagues who entrust me with it. I feel tremendously
   responsible.

The Korean Neurological Association was established in August, 1982 and it has developed rapidly in less than thirty years despite many complications. I truly believe that such a great achievement could not have been accomplished without the endless efforts of past presidents, directors, board members and members. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to our seniors once again. Our Korean Neurological Association was established in August, 1982. After many complications it has developed rapidly in thirty short years. It is a true that these developments could not have been achieved without the endless efforts of past presidents, directors, board members and members. I would like to thank to our seniors once again.

It has become crucial not only for universities and hospitals all over the country but also for our association to pursue lasting education and research activities as our modern medical science has made remarkable progress especially in the field of neurology. I will ensure that the KNA continues to develop better training and integrated educational contents in the field of neurological science with many other related academic associations.
Modern medical science, especially, has made remarkable progress in the field of neurology. So, lasting education and research have become more important not only for all universities and hospitals but also for the level and prestige of our association. We are now in the process of creating better and deeper training and educational contents followed by the extension of the contents in neurological science with many other related academic associations.

Furthermore, it is urgent to prepare right measures for the problems which bad health care policy including current medical insurance instigates conflicts rather than trust between doctors and patients. I firmly believe that it is time for us to do more activities and to overcome the variety of conflicts for patients and the public so as to make the right policy consented by social members based on fairness.
Also, we urgently have to prepare measures for those problems since bad health care policy including current medical insurance instigates conflicts rather than trust between doctors and patients. I think it's time to do activities more aggressively for patients and people by overcoming the variety of conflicts for the Korean Neurological Association to become futher centralized, to be respected expertise, to make the right policy consented by social members based on fairness.

Additionally, I personally think that this is the right moment to host the international meetings for the promotion of academic activities and the enhancement of international presence in the field of neurology. In this sense, I will do my best to accomplish this during my term by respecting each committee’s opinion and encouraging the board members and every committee to efficiently work on their tasks.
It’s time to try to invite the international society for the promotion of academic activities and to increase our international presence in the department of neurology and I will do my best to accomplish this during my term. I will respect each committee's opinion and encourage the board members and committee members to operate their tasks with a certain goal positively.

I think that we can overcome any difficulty and achieve our goal through understanding each other in harmony and consideration. The board members will do their best to reflect the opinions of our members. I would like to ask for your interest and support for the development of the Korean Neurological Association. Last but not least, I wish you the best.

Chief Director Kwang-Woo Lee

Dear Colleagues, Ladies and Gentlemen:

On the behalf of Korean Neurological Association(KNA), I proudly announce that the 29th Annual Congress of KNA is going to be held in Daejeon from November 4th to November 7th, 2010. Since KNA adopted the policy of holding only one congress annually in 2007, the annual congress has rapidly progressed to be the single, most important event of KNA promoting our capabilities in neurological care, research, education, and our friendship. I have no doubt that the 29th Congress

will provide us the best what we need for the promotion of our professional career.

The Main Theme of 29th Annual Congress commemorating the first decade of 21st Century is “Integrated Diversity” indicating the ultimate harmony of many contrasts existing in Neurology and our practicing environments. The Scientific program of 29th Congress consists of Lectures, Update Reviews, Educational Courses, Workshops, and Symposiums, in addition to Platform and Poster Presentations. Two outstanding international speakers, Prof. S. Wiebe in Epilepsy and Prof. T. Brandt in Neuro-otology, will tell us about the Recent Advances in each fields. Most of our excellent local opinion leaders as well as our sister societies (Movement Disorders, Dementia, Clinical Neurophysiology, Headache, Neurocritical Care, and Sleep Disorders) are going to participate to the Congress to promote the quality of program as the highest. In this year, for the purpose of promoting KNA as one of Leading Societies in our region, KNA launched a new program, “Neurology Asia”, in which Prof. S Wiebe(Canada), Prof. S Kaneco(Japan), Prof. YH Shih(Taiwan), and Dr. Choi(Korea) will provide excellent discussions about “How to Promote Collaborations among Asian Epilepsy Communities”. It should also be acknowledged that the Session for “Epilepsy Management” is going to be presented in English as an initial attempt of KNA being more globally interactive. Daejeon Convention Center, located in the center of our nation, is a new, beautifully designed and highly equipped complex, which was built under the modern concept of multifunctional purposes, thus we are going to experience its excellent atmosphere during our attendance to the Congress.

On the behalf of KNA, I express my deepest regard to all members of the Society for excellent contributions and dedications toward the progress of KNA. I welcome you all and encourage you to participate to the 29th Congress to feel our close ties and to experience the highest standard of our professional activities. Hope seeing you all in Daejeon.

Congress President of Korean Neurological Association.
